Township Meeting Minutes – August 2022

ST. MATHIAS TOWNSHIP

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

ST. MATHIAS PARK AND RECREATION CENTER

August 1, 2022 7 p.m.

Board Members Present:Carrie Allord, Jim Guida, Brion Fornshell, Mark Malinowski and Cassey Veith

The meeting was called to order by the chairman with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Julygeneral meeting minutes were reviewed by the Supervisors in google docs.  Carrie motioned to approve minutes and Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

Treasurer’s report as of July 31, 2022,  there was $493,420.40  in the bank, including the CD’s. Claims were provided in google docs and copies to sign during the meeting. Mark motioned to approve the Treasurer report and claims, and Carrie seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. 

The claims received by the Supervisors were the following: Dave Keehr- road maintenance, Mark Eckelman- Cemetery Mowing; Pera-retirement and one (1) addition of the City of Brainerd-fire assessment. Mark motioned to approve the Treasurer report and claims, and Carrie seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried

Mark motioned to increase election judge pay to from $11 to $15 and head judge $12 to $19 per hour, Carrie seconded. Two supervisors were in favor, one silent, and the motion carried. 

Resident Dylan Lee contacted Supervisor, Mark, about the grader hitting his mailbox. He is requesting ½ the cost to get a swinging mailbox. Supervisors were in agreement to pay ½ the cost of a new mailbox. 

Supervisor, Jim, will be attending the District 8 meeting located in Verndale. 

Food shelf requested a $500 donation. It will be added to the annual meeting donation request. 

We received a verbal price from Quality Lawn Services for mowing the Town Hall. It was $40 plus tax each mow. 

Each calendar year each Board will be completing Supervisor Resolution Interest Claim and each time work outside Supervisors duties a Supervisor Interest Claim form will need to be filled out. 

Carrie motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 p.m, Mark seconded. All were in favor, and the meeting was adjourned.
