Township Meeting Minutes – October 2023

ST. MATHIAS TOWNSHIP

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

ST. MATHIAS PARK AND RECREATION CENTER

October 2, 2023 7 p.m.

Board Members Present:Carrie Allord, Mark Malinowski, Brion Fornshell, and Cassey Veith
Attendees:Robert Morgan, Clayton Eisel, and Richard Copa
Remote:Jim Guida

The meeting was called to order by the chairman with the Pledge of Allegiance.

General minutes for September minutes were provided in google docs. Carrie motioned to approve minutes; mark seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. 

Treasurer’s report as of September 30, 2023, there was $472,24889 in the bank, including the CD’s. Claims were provided in google docs and copies to sign during the meeting. The claims received by the Supervisors as the following: Dave Keehr- road maintenance; IRS- quarter 3 taxes; Mark Eckelman- cemetery mowing; Brion Fornshell- payroll; Carrie Allord- payroll; Mark Malinowski- payroll; Jim Guida- payroll; Cassey Veith-payroll. With the additional three (3) claims for gophers for Clayton Eisel, Mervin Eisel and Richard Copa. Carrie motioned to approve claims; Jimseconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. 

Supervisors will be putting out another newsletter to include ditch spraying, annual meeting, and roadside responsibility.

Road review was tabled until the next board meeting. 

No objections to the Certificate of Mileage received from Crow Wing County, as it has not changed from previous year. 

Supervisor Mark, noted ruts in the grass at the Townhall from the tractor turning around on the grass. Mark will reach out to Andi Schubert about turning around in the grass because the area is used for parking at the Townhall. Also, ruts will be addressed in the spring. 

Resident Robert Morgan discussed comments on right aways and brushing, including a concern of Hay creek line of sight.  

North Koering  and Sleepy Hollow added to the upcoming road review. 

Brion was updating our contact information at the bank with our CDs. 

Carrie motioned to adjourn the meeting at 07:40 p.m, Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the meeting was adjourned.
