Township Meeting Minutes – August

ST. MATHIAS TOWNSHIP

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

ST. MATHIAS PARK AND RECREATION CENTER

August 5, 2019 7 p.m.

Board Members Present: Carrie Allord, Jim Guida, Brion Fornshell, Mark Malinowski, and Cassey Veith
Attendees: Dave Keehr, Robert Morgan, and Frank Miles

The meeting was called to order by the chairman with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The July general minutes and special mail ballot meeting were received by the Supervisors via-email. Carrie motioned to approve and Mark seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

Treasurer’s report as of July 31, 2019, there was $285,910.16 in the bank, including the CD’s.

Carrie motioned to pay bills, Mark seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. Orders issued numbering 5460 through 5463 were unanimously approved and paid.

Discussion of mail ballot for the upcoming election year was tabled until next general meeting.

Frank Miles asked about a tree on Dosh Road that should be removed. The landowner was ok with it being removed. Supervisor Jim said as of right now it does not obstruct the traffic. Landowner and Neighbor will remove the tree. Supervisors will look into relocating the stop sign after talking with the County for options. Frank mentioned the Neighbor’s yard had ruts in their driveway from the truck hauling in gravel. Supervisors will take a look at the yard.

Supervisors plan to attend the District 8 meeting.

Supervisor Mark mowed the Town hall twice and Supervisor Jim will take over mowing duties for the month of August.

New Business:

Dave Keehr brought contact information for a Carr’s Tree Service who are in the area spraying brush in the surrounding Townships of Platt, Daggert, and Fort Ripley. This will help in problem areas in need of extra brushing. Spraying timeframe is almost over. Carrie motioned to spray 5 miles, Mark seconded. This will be a test run to see if we would want utilize services in the future. Supervisors will map out 5 miles and keep in mind the organic farms where we will not spray.

Jim motioned to adjourn meeting ended at 8:05 p.m., Mark seconded. All were in favor, and meeting was adjourned.
