Township Meeting Minutes – September 2018

ST. MATHIAS TOWNSHIP

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

ST. MATHIAS PARK AND RECREATION CENTER

September 4, 2018 7 p.m.

Board Members Present: Carrie Allord, Jim Guida, Brion Fornshell, Becky Eckelman, and Cassey Veith
Attendees: Dave Keehr and Mary Sather.

The meeting was called to order by the chairman with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The July minutes were unanimously approved as received by the Supervisors via-email, Jim motioned and Carrie seconded. All were in favor, and motion carried. The August minutes were unanimously approved as received by the Supervisors via-email, Jim motioned and Carrie seconded. All were in favor, and motion carried.

Treasure’s report as of August 31, 2018, there was $223,409.08 in the bank, including the CD’s.

Clayton Lenk from Crow Wing Soil & Water requested to hold a meeting at the Townhall. The Townhall does not have lights or the capacity to hold the anticipated attendees. St. Mathias Park and Recreation has a fee and the Township will not pay the fee. Jim will talk with the Park Officers and call Clayton.  

Fall road review is scheduled for October 10, 2018 starting at 8:30am from Becky’s house.

Recap from the Snow and Ice control meeting gave an example for a snow policy. Add it to the next board meeting to review. There is also a certificate for distributing salt. Is that something the township to ask for?

Carrie motioned to pay bills, Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. Orders issued numbering 5350 through 5366 were unanimously approved and paid.

Old Townhall book exchange update. We have had increase of traffic and drop off since the article was printed, including volunteers. The bookshelves are full and will need to add more. Board approved to purchase more bookshelves. The blue fire sign was installed. Cake is order from Mary. Plan on putting up the old voting booth.

New Business

At the road review Supervisors will move the road signs from Becky’s house to the storage unit at the St. Mathias Park.

Carrie motioned to adjourned and Jim Seconded. Meeting ended at 7:40p.m.
