Township Meeting Minutes – December 2021

ST. MATHIAS TOWNSHIP

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

ST. MATHIAS PARK AND RECREATION CENTER

September 7, 2021 7 p.m.

Board Members Present:Jim Guida, Brion Fornshel, Mark Malinowski and Cassey Veith
Attendees:Robert Morgan

The meeting was called to order by the chairman with the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:15 due to the St. Mathias Park and Rec Board meeting running late. 

The August general meeting minutes were received by the Supervisors via-email. August minutes were tabled to verify the check amounts written to Clayton and Tony Eisel for gophers. 

Treasurer’s report as of September 30, 2021, there was $369,890.47 in the bank, including the CD’s. Jim motioned to approved and Mark seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. 

The claims were received by the Supervisors via-email. Carrie motioned to pay bills; Mark seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. Dave Keehr- Road Maintenance; Mark Eckelman- Cemetery Mowing; Carr’s Tree Service- spraying of ditches; Mary Sather- Book exchange sign reimbursement and added one claim for Ed Richmond for 64 gophers. 

Resident Tom Ebinger contacted Supervisor Jim to discuss adding a driveway to his land. Jim determined no culvert would be needed.

Supervisor Jim contacted Anderson Brothers for recommendations on filling potholes on 50th. Afterwards Jim purchased three (3) 5-gallon buckets and filled in the holes. Invoice to be sent to the Clerk. 

Board review quarterly payroll for next meeting. 

Clerk Cassey recommend everyone completing the Board of Appeals training to ensure we have at least one Board member with the certification at the yearly meeting. 

Treasurer Brion recommended ordering a new computer and scanner to move towards paperless. Jim motioned to purchase the needed equipment, Carrie 2nd. All were in favor, and motion carried. 

A master lock was placed on the Township storage door for easy access for Board members when needed. 

Mark motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 p.m., Jim seconded. All were in favor, and meeting was adjourned.
