Township Meeting Minutes – April 2021

ST. MATHIAS TOWNSHIP

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

ST. MATHIAS PARK AND RECREATION CENTER

April 5, 2021 7 p.m.

Board Members Present:Carrie Allord, Jim Guida, and Cassey Veith
Attendees:Mary Sather and Robert Morgan
Remotely:Brion Fornshel

The meeting was called to order by the chairman with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Carrie motioned to approve St. Mathias Bar and grill’s liquor license and Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

The March general meeting minutes were received by the Supervisors via-email. Carrie motioned to approve and Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

Treasurer’s report as of March 31, 2021 there was $324,071.95 in the bank, including the CD’s.

The claims were received by the Supervisors via-email. Carrie motioned to pay bills, Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. The following claims listed on the agenda were unanimously approved and paid; Dave Keehr- Road Maintenance; Dale’s Excavating- Sand; City of Brainerd- Fire assessment; Crisis Line- Annual Donation; CWC Fair Association- Annual Donation; CWC Historical Society- Annual Donation; Zone One First Responders- Annual Donation; CWC Land Services- Property Tax; ECM- Annual Posting; IRS- Quarterly Taxes.

Due to one supervisor not being present the Road Review date was tabled.

Supervisors Mark and Jim will continue to mow the Townhall for the summer.

We will not be posting for brushing of ditches. Board will reach out to company we already received information.

Jim motioned to approve the Knights of Columbus liquor license and Carrie seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

At the end of month Jim will be meeting with CTC for WiFi hook up at the Park.

Tim Houle, Crow Wing County, emailed asking if we would be interested in preliminary federal stimulus and partnering to expand broadband access in the city and township. There is no guarantee but would like to have an idea of interested Townships. Clerk, Cassey, will reply saying St. Mathias Township was interested.

Carrie motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:37 p.m., Jim seconded. All were in favor, and meeting was adjourned.
