Township Meeting Minutes – May 2017

ST. MATHIAS TOWNSHIP

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

ST. MATHIAS PARK AND RECREATION CENTER

May 1, 2017 7 p.m.

Board Members Present: Carrie Allord, Becky Eckelman, Brion Fornshell,  Jim Guida, and Cassey Veith
Attendees: Todd Dahl, Robert Morgan, Dave Keehr, and Jody Lodermeir.

The meeting was called to order by the chairman with the Pledge of Allegiance.

            The minutes were unanimously approved as received by the supervisors via e-mail, Becky motioned and Carrie seconded.

            Treasurer gave the treasurer’s report. There is $249,009.55 in the bank and it includes the CD’s.

                         Todd Dahl gave a recap on the new drug called Wax that is in the area. Bath salts are falling off, however meth and marijuana still found in the area. Heroin is mostly found on the reservation. Out of the 300 inmates about 95% are addicted to one form of drugs noted above. This time of year burglaries are in an increase due to the warmer weather. Question asked about our township. Todd informed, our area is at the low end of burglaries calls. In this area majority calls received are from Security systems, which is worth the check.

Old Business:

            At the Annual 2018 Meeting, announcing the deadline of quotes on snow and gravel maintenance at the April General meeting. The contacts will be renewed every two (2) years.

New Business:

            Becky motioned and Carrie second for Jim and Brion to attend the Crow Wing County disaster response training.

            Tim did beaver clearing in three (3) trouble spots on the county line road.

            Robert Morgan gave a recap on the trail walk on April 29th, 2017.
