Township Meeting Minutes – October 2024

ST. MATHIAS TOWNSHIP

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

ST. MATHIAS PARK AND RECREATION CENTER

October 7, 2024 7 p.m.

Board Members Present:Carrie Allord, Jim Guida, Mark Malinowski, Brion Fornshell and Cassey Veith

The meeting was called to order by the chairman with the Pledge of Allegiance..

Jim motioned to allow Treasurer to act as Clerk, Mark seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

General minutes for September were provided in google docs. Mark motioned to approve minutes; Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. 

The claims received by the Supervisors as the following via-google docs: Dave Keehr- road maintenance; Mark Eckelman- cemetery mowing; Carr’s Tree Service- spraying; Carrie Allord- salary; Jim Guida- salary; Mark Malinowski- salary; Brion Fornshell- salary; Cassey Veith- salary, and IRS- quarterly taxes. With the additional claims of Sanders Construction- gravel and Tony Eisel- gophers.  Jim motioned to approve claims; Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. 

Resident request for grading maintenance  50th due to frost boil. Dave Keehr added two loads to the road.

Dave’s estimation of the minimum amount for regular maintenance is 3,000 yards per year. 2024 it was $10.20 per yard. 

Treasurer’s report as of September 30, 2024, there was $394,918.68 in the bank, including the CD’s. Carrie motioned to approve the Treasurer’s report; Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

Discussion of brushing the minimum maintenance road by the bridge due to Carr’s being 3-4 weeks out to do the work. Supervisor, Jim will reach out to Carr’s and Supervisor, Mark will request an estimate from a different vendor. 

Carrie motioned to approve the mileage certificate, Jim seconded.  All were in favor, and the motion carried. 

The book exchange at the Town Hall is getting ready to close for the season and the Town Hall mowing was done for the year. 

Carrie motioned to adjourn the meeting at 07:31 p.m., Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the meeting was adjourned.
