Township Meeting Minutes – June 2021

ST. MATHIAS TOWNSHIP

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

ST. MATHIAS PARK AND RECREATION CENTER

June 7, 2021 7 p.m.

Board Members Present:Carrie Allord, Jim Guida, and Cassey Veith

The meeting was called to order by the chairman with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The May general meeting minutes were received by the Supervisors via-email. Jim motioned to approved and Carrie seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

Treasurer’s report as of May 31, 2021, there was $306,560.03 in the bank, including the CD’s. Jim motioned to approved and Carrie seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

The land lease of $280 and Crow Wing Power Capital Credit of $57.42 were received and will be deposited this week.

The claims were received by the Supervisors via-email. Carrie motioned to pay bills; Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. The following claims listed on the agenda were unanimously approved and paid; Dave Keehr- Road Maintenance; Mark Eckelman- Cemetery Mowing; Brion Fornshell- Payroll; Carrie Allord- Payroll; Jim Guida- Payroll; Mark Malinowski- Payroll; Cassey Veith- Payroll; Adding on claim Sanders Construction for Class 5. Jim motioned to approved adding $25 per year to our MATIT Insurance coverage to cover computer equipment purchased this year; Carrie seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

Carrie motioned to approved Knights of Columbus gambling license, Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

On May 20th Becky Eckelman emailed the Board and inform someone must have buried their dog in the cemetery over the weekend. They did bring their own rocks that spelt out Bucky. Rocks were removed and signed was posted informing of why Bucky’s grave site has been removed. Carrie will reach out to MAT attorney to ask of specific wording we should have posted in the cemetery to avoid the situation in the future. In the past when families inquired about burying family members in the cemetery and talking with the State Historically Society, they stated not to dig because of numerous unmark graves and it’s also a historical site.

Road Review was scheduled for was scheduled for June 29th at 7:00am and leaving from St. Mathias Park and Rec.

After verbal communication Supervisor Jim had Dale DeRosier and Ronnie Roscoe for quotes for 20th Street and recommendation for shaving back the ditch for visibility. Currently Ronnie was too busy to take on the project. Jim motioned to approve the estimated 10 hours of labor at $180 for road maintenance needed from Dale, Carrie second. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

Carrie motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:35 p.m., Jim seconded. All were in favor, and meeting was adjourned.
