Township Meeting Minutes – June 2017

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

  1. MATHIAS PARK AND RECREATION CENTER

June 5, 2017 7 p.m.

Board Members Present: Carrie Allord, Brion Fornshell,  Jim Guida, and Cassey Veith
Attendees: Robert Morgan, Dave Keehr, and Jody Lodermeir.

 

The meeting was called to order by the chairman with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes were unanimously approved as received by the supervisors via e-mail, Jim motioned and Carrie seconded.

Treasurer gave the treasurer’s report as of May 31, 2017. There is $254,604.47 in the bank and it includes the CD’s. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

Reviewed the mowing contract with the State of MN. Jim motioned to approve and Carrie Seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

Business Membership change card was present and the board to sign to update current board members on the board. All were in favor, and the motion carried.

Carrie motioned to pay bills, Jim seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. Orders issued numbering 5254 through 5262 were unanimously approved and paid.

Fire Meeting Recap from Carrie, planning on buying a new air boat and increase training for the year.

HSEM training by Joe Kelly recap from Jim, should always have plans in place with hopes of never using them. There are other classes available and they can break down the class to fit small rural areas like our township.

Routine Maintenance was discussed concerning10th with water standing. Rob Hall recommend piping on the west side. Dave Kehr could install this weekend if he had the material. Jim will look into getting the required material so the project can be completed.

Old Business:

Road Review recap- areas where dirt needs to be added. Jim received a road sign book so the township can phase out old post to the break away.  

New Business:

Morgan asked about possibility of dust control on the dirt roads. Cost is estimated about $3,000 per mile. It was recommend, if he could convince neighbors to split the cost for their dirt road. Con of the dust control is it leaves a film on the vehicles. This could be a future contract investment conversation.

Corner Trail Road has a “speed bump” on the east side under the tar. Jim will contact Rob Hall or Lucas Marks because it’s on the right away.

Carrie motioned to adjourned and Jim second, meeting adjourned at 8:00 pm.
