REGULAR BOARD MEETING

The meeting was called to order by the chairman with the Pledge of Allegiance.
The August general meeting minutes were received by the Supervisors via-email. Jim motioned to approve and Mark seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried.
Treasurer’s report as of August 31, 2020 there was $298,243.03 in the bank, including the CD’s.Jim motioned to pay bills, Carrie seconded. All were in favor, and the motion carried. The following claims listed on the agenda were unanimously approved and paid; Dave Keehr- road maintenance, Mark Eckelman- Cemetery Mowing, City of Brainerd- Fire Service, MCR- Filing notice, M&R Signs- new signs and posts, Brion Fornshell- Quarter 3 Payroll, Carrie Allord- Quarter 3 Payroll, Cassey Veith- Quarter 3 Payroll, Jim Guida- Quarter 3 Payroll and Mark Malinoski- Quarter 3 Payroll.
Received a phone call from resident Jeannie Mauer about health concerns that happen after spraying of the ditches. Other feedback from the spraying, Robert Morgan’s ditches were sprayed even though it was marked as a no spray area with signs and on the map provided to Carr’s Tree Service. Also noted some area that could’ve use it and did not get sprayed. Note more unwanted areas will die off and make it easier for upcoming brushing. Jim attending the snowmobile club and they have no volunteers or reimbursement from the State for brushing along the trail. The Fall Road review the Supervisors will mark the areas that were not sprayed and sprayed to contact Carr’s Tree Service.
At the District 8 meeting it was requested that everyone participate in the Speed Test Initiative to help the Minnesota Broadband Coalition.
Treasurer, Broin, requested we re-visit the mail ballot for next election due the low interest of election judges. Supervisor, Carrie, said everyone she talked to was glad we did not move to mail ballots. Talk of a newsletter to spread word of projects within the Township, election judges, and informing of meetings.
Town Hall may need to be mowed the next week or two and we will review the hall during the fall road review.
COVID-Relief certificate form has been signed and it will cover purchase of equipment such as new rotator and service. Fiber lines is still a gray area if the funds will cover it. Jim will look into the cost of fiber for the next meeting.
Jim will reach out to the Fort Ripley Township about recycling and ways to help keep it going.
Road review was scheduled for Sunday, October 11 at 10:00am and starting from St. Mathias Park and Rec.
Fire meeting update, the new fire engine came within budget and remaining funds will go back into the capital fund.
Carrie motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m., Jim seconded. All were in favor, and meeting was adjourned.
